Young people growing up on working family farms in England will have the chance to share their real‑life stories — one winner will win a publication plus 10% of profits for their family farm.

We’re looking for true stories from young people growing up on working family farms in England. Your story should share a real experience, include at least one animal, and show a challenge that you or your family faced — and how you overcame it.

Under 18
From a small working family farm in England
Submission must include full parental consent (via the application form)
Story Requirements
Based on real-life events
Includes at least one animal
Shows a genuine challenge and how you or your family overcame it

Your submission must include full consent from a parent/guardian, along with:
The type of farm you have
How long the farm has been in your family
The winning entry will also have a dedicated page celebrating the history of their family farm — honouring the people, animals, and stories that make farming so special. We will also be asking for photos of your family farm to use for illustrations.
Please note that this competition will be open until 16/03/2026 - unless we reach our application limit of 500 applications. In the event of this, we will be closing the competition earlier. However, we are hoping there will be more opportunities in the future!
